Baby Fox, Coyote, or Bobcat
Caution: There are certain wild animals that should only be handled by trained individuals. As tempting as it is to rescue a fox or coyote pup, you will likely do more harm than good. They are not pet material. If the pups are handled or kept for any length of time, it is extremely difficult to prepare them to be released back to the wild.
- Do not handle, feed, or transport the fox, coyote, or bobcat.
- Contact Native Animal Rescue at 831-462-0726.

Injured Mature Fox, Coyote, or Bobcat
Though it’s hard to accept, adult mammals can almost never be caught and successfully treated. If an adult mammal is cornered or captured, it will struggle to break free causing itself great harm in the process.
If you see an adult mammal with a broken leg or other injury, leave the animal alone. Even though the injury may take a long time to heal, this is far preferable to the trauma of chase and capture. Wild animals have an amazing ability to heal and adapt to many types of injuries.
